"We are getting more and more requests for real-time data integration" said Murilo Bevilaqua, Director of Exata. "The OPC DataHub provides the best technology we have seen for connecting OPC servers, networking OPC, and making the data available to the engineers and managers who need it."

The Top 4 Reasons for Logging Data with the OPC DataHub

The OPC DataHub provides a unique configuration interface that makes data logging both quick and completely open to customization.

Here are the top 4 reasons why the OPC DataHub is the best data logging solution available:

  1. The user interface gives you quick configuration, while DataHub scripts let you customize the data logging for your exact requirements.
  2. You can log data to your existing database tables.
  3. In addition to logging data from your OPC server, it is easy to write data from your database back to points in your OPC server.
  4. A new version of the OPC DataHub has store and forward capabilities.
DataHub Scripting: Log data to a text file when a point changes

An example of the flexibility of the OPC DataHub for data logging is its ability to log data to a text file when a DataHub point changes value. This is accomplished by a DataHub script written specifically for this purpose, and available here.

You can quickly modify the script to name the trigger point, the point or points whose values you need to log, and the file you wish to log to. This is one of several new example scripts that are now availble.
