The installation and configuration of an adaptor card in a Micro Channel computer is slightly different from that of an XT- or AT-compatible computer. A PS/2 computer requires the use of a Reference Diskette when adding or configuring an adaptor card. For each type of card installed in the computer, there must be a file on the diskette which describes the card and its resource requirements. For the 5136-SD-MCA card, the file is called @6167.ADF.
The @6167.ADF file is provided on the distribution diskette which is shipped with the card. This file must be copied to the backup copy of the Reference Diskette before the card is installed in the computer. Then, install the interface card and power up the computer, booting from the Reference Diskette. Follow the prompts on the screen to re-configure the machine with the new adaptor and, if problems arise, refer to the manual which came with the card.
View the configuration as set by the Reference Diskette and note the values chosen. These are required for proper execution of the software.
After the hardware is configured, proceed with the software installation according to Sofware Module Installation (below).
