OPC DataHub -- The only OPC tool you need.
August 2008
Greetings!
Ah, summertime! Things are quiet, everyone is on vacation. Maybe now is the time to get back to that data connectivity project that you've put on hold. Launch the OPC DataHub and see what you can do.

Brazilian Automation Team Endorses the OPC DataHub

Cogent Real-Time Systems has reached an agreement with Atria Automation in Brazil to distribute the OPC DataHub and related products. Atria Automation has a strong background in automation and process control, and its management recognizes how useful the OPC DataHub is for providing real-time solutions to their clients working in system integration.

"The OPC DataHub is a high value solution for data connectivity projects," said Luis Augusto de Carvalho, spokesman for Atria Automation. "We feel it holds particular interest for system integrators, because they are the ones who have to solve the problems. Final customers care mainly about cost, but they don't do the engineering. The OPC DataHub makes the job easier and faster than other solutions, so system integrators can finish the work quicker. Reduced engineering costs mean savings for the customer, so in the end everyone wins."

Connecting OPC to Embedded Systems

The OPC DataHub makes it easy for you to access OPC servers from an embedded system on the network. For example, the OPC DataHub in Windows can mirror data to the Cascade DataHub in Linux and QNX to provide a real-time data path.

Why is this useful?

  • You can fully integrate data from OPC servers into your embedded systems.
  • And at the same time, you can connect your embedded systems to OPC clients, Excel, databases, and the web.
  • Your embedded system gains robust OPC server capabilities.
Networking Solution: connecting NT to XP

A company in Germany is using the OPC DataHub to tunnel data between an OPC server on a Windows NT computer, over a network, to a client application running on a Windows XP computer.

This helps the plant engineers avoid serious problems configuring DCOM and Windows security permissions on both computers.
