Romanian Systems Integrator to Distribute OPC DataHub
OPC DataHub to Form the Basis of Integrated
Hardware/Software Solutions in Romania
Georgetown, Ontario (August 3, 2007) Cogent Real-Time Systems welcomes ViaNet Serv
SRL as a distributor for Cogent's OPC DataHub. ViaNet sells
communication hardware in the Romanian market, specializing
in the integration of wireless devices and networks.
"We need to provide our Romanian distributors with
complete hardware and software solutions that will integrate
various data sources into one easy-to-use package," said Horia
Chirculescu, Manager of ViaNet. "We believe that the OPC
DataHub is the perfect software solution."
"Right now we are working with one of our associates on a
complete data center for a large Romanian electrical power
producer," continued Mr. Chirculescu. "This company gets data
readings from a wide geographical area through VSAT terminals
via optical fiber, and the data has to be centralized in the
dispatcher room. The SSL tunnelling facility of the OPC DataHub
will be most welcome in assuring security of data transfered
through the Internet and intranet.
"We have a strong interest in this project," said Andrew
Thomas, President of Cogent. "It demonstrates the versatility of
the OPC DataHub in any application, hardware or software, that
requires secure and reliable collection and redistribution of
real-time data."
The OPC DataHub is a single tool for OPC-based process
data integration. An engineer can use it to aggregate OPC
servers, tunnel data across a network or the Internet, and
bridge between different OPC servers. Management can configure
the DataHub to access live OPC data from Excel, a web browser,
or cell phone, as well as store the data in any ODBC-compliant
database.
