Brazilian Automation Team Endorses the OPC DataHub

Cogent's newest distributor, Atria Automation, recognizes the high value of the OPC DatHub for system integrators.

Georgetown, Ontario (July 25, 2008) Cogent Real-Time Systems has reached an agreement with Atria Automation in Brazil to distribute the OPC DataHub and related products. Atria Automation has a strong background in automation and process control, and its management recognizes how useful the OPC DataHub is for providing real-time solutions to their clients working in system integration.

"The OPC DataHub is a high value solution for data connectivity projects," said Luis Augusto de Carvalho, spokesman for Atria Automation. "We feel it holds particular interest for system integrators, because they are the ones who have to solve the problems. Final customers care mainly about cost, but they don't do the engineering. The OPC DataHub makes the job easier and faster than other solutions, so system integrators can finish the work quicker. Reduced engineering costs mean savings for the customer, so in the end everyone wins."

"Atria Automation brings a lot of know-how and experience to the table," said Andrew Thomas, President of Cogent. "Their solid understanding of the needs of system integrators and end-users alike makes the OPC DataHub a logical choice."

The OPC DataHub gives quick, reliable, and secure access to valuable information direct from the factory floor. It is an integrated tool that can present live process data directly on an engineer's or manager's desk in a form most suitable: database, spreadsheet, or web page. It provides OPC tunnelling, bridging, and aggregation, and has a free API to support virtually any type of OPC connectivity required.

Atria Automation is a system integration company specializing in automation and process control. The name "Atria" is taken from a prominent star in the southern hemisphere, which is also found in the Brazilian flag. With 10 years experience in industrial automation, Atria's main objective is to use the latest technology to create the in-plant solutions that bring the most value to their clients. Atria offers a range of PLC, HMI, and SCADA products, as well as configuration, programming, and project management services.
