Spanish Instrumentation Supplier to Distribute the OPC
DataHub
Sumelco sees the OPC DataHub as an excellent tool for
integrating real-time data coming from control hardware and
instrumentation.
Georgetown, Ontario (April 7, 2009) Cogent Real-Time Systems is pleased to announce
that Sumelco Technologies in Spain will be distributing the
OPC DataHub. Sumelco distributes instruments and software for
process control applications, and sees the OPC DataHub as a
valuable resource for their customer base.
"We have many customers, system integrators mainly, who
use OPC," said Daniel Martinez, General Manager of Sumelco.
"They all need access to their data. If they have any OPC
server on a machine, it doesn't matter which one, they can
install the OPC DataHub and then take the data and put it where
they wish--databases, email, Excel files, or web pages."
"The OPC DataHub is a perfect fit in the instrumentation
market," said Andrew Thomas, President of Cogent. "In today's
process environment more and more professionals expect easy
access to their data for real-time integration. This is what
the OPC DataHub provides."
"This product is for people who use OPC servers and want
to do something more with their data," added Mr. Martinez. "If
they need something from their SCADA system, they can take the
data out and do what they wish with it. If they want to connect
two OPC servers together, or send their data across the network,
they will find the OPC DataHub very useful."
The OPC DataHub gives quick, reliable, and secure access
to valuable information direct from the factory floor. It is an
integrated tool that can present live process data directly on
an engineer's or manager's desk in a form most suitable:
database, spreadsheet, or web page. It provides OPC tunnelling,
bridging, and aggregation, and has a free API to support
virtually any requirement for OPC connectivity.
Sumelco has been serving the process industry for more
than 30 years, distributing control equipment and
instrumentation, as well as providing software and support.
Sumelco's state-of-the-art control and process supervision
technology, the PC Registrador, standardizes registration of
SComm data and facilitates process registration, resulting in a
standard database for rapid access to information logged by
analog or digital means.
