4.13. License

Problem:

No license.

Possible Cause 1:

Insufficient data server licenses have been installed to accommodate all running Cascade Connect processes.

Solution 1:

Install the Cascade Connect licenses from your Connect Server installation diskette. You should have files of the form:

cogcl0000001u001

in the directory /etc/licenses.

Ensure that the Connect Server (cserve) is not already running. Use the command:

sin | grep cserve

to establish that two cserve processes are running for each connection. If a Cascade Connect connection was terminated abnormally, the TCP protocol requires that the operating system delay before dropping the connection. This timeout may be as long as 15 minutes. You can use the slay or kill commands to terminate waiting cserve tasks.

Possible Cause 2:

The inetd command is starting cserve directly.

Solution 2:

The inetd command should be starting usr/cogent/bin/cascade, not cwrite or cserve.
