4.1. TCP/IP Host Name

Problem:

Cascade requires a TCP/IP host name

Cause:

This message is the first check after loading the configuration file. If you have correctly entered a TCP/IP host name in the Setup window or configuration file, it is likely that the configuration file was not actually loaded. This is most likely due to an improper path name.

Solution:

When you create a shortcut to Cascade Connect in Windows, you should right-click on the icon and look at the Properties. In the Shortcut tabbed section check the Target: field, for example:

 "C:\your\path\name\cascade.exe" -i filename.ini

and make sure it specifies the correct .ini file. Also check the Start in: path to the shortcut. For example:

 "C:\your\path\name\Cascade Connect"

Alternatively, you can specify the complete path to the .ini file in the command line, being careful to quote paths that contain spaces.
