Problem:

Cascade Connect hangs for a long time without responding.

Cause:

Cascade Connect is looking for a host named in the initialization file, and cannot find it in your hosts file. It attempts to locate the host name on any configured domain name servers, and will potentially take a long time to return.

Solution:

You can either wait for Cascade Connect to return from its search, or you can terminate it using the Windows task termination mechanism (i.e., CTRL-ALT-DEL in Windows 95, or CTRL-ESC in Windows 3.1 and 3.11).
