4.10. No Connection: Data Server-InTouch
Problem:
There is no
connection from the data server to InTouch.
Cause:
This is a general
problem, and could be due to any number of causes.
Solution:
- Start Cascade Connect with the debug flag turned on and
check the error messages.
- If there is no connection between Cascade Connect and the
data server, refer to the other troubleshooting tips in this
appendix.
- If there is no communication from the data server to your
Windows application, this indicates that the DDE service and
topic for your Windows application are configured
incorrectly in the Cascade Connect configuration. If the
configuration of the client service and topic are correct,
you should get one-way communication from the data server to
Intouch.
- If you do not have communication from your Windows
application to the data server, then look at the DDE server
configuration in your Windows application. Only DDE tags in
your application will be transmitted to the data server.
You must ensure that the DDE server configured in your
application is the same as the Client DDE
Service and Client DDE Topic
configured in the Cascade Connect configuration. If this is
correct, you should have one-way communication from your
Windows application to the data server.
